Massage Treatments
Are you new to massage?
Here is what should you expect before, during, and after a massage
Before the massage:
You will be welcomed by your massage therapist and asked to fill out a health questionnaire to ensure that the massage is safe for you. Your therapist will then ask you about any areas of concern, any recent injuries or surgeries, and your preferred level of pressure
During the massage:
You will be asked to undress to your level of comfort and lie face down on a massage table. Your therapist will use a variety of techniques to warm up your muscles and release any tension or adhesions, including long, sweeping strokes, kneading, and cross-fiber friction.
The therapist will then focus on each area of your body, using their hands, knuckles, and elbows to work deeply into the muscles, tendons, and fascia. They will use firm pressure, slow strokes, and deliberate movements to release any knots or trigger points and to stretch and lengthen your muscles.
Your therapist may also use tools such as hot stones, Thai herbal compress, Thai balm, essential oil, or deep tissue massage rollers to enhance the effects of the massage and provide additional relief.
After the massage:
Once the massage is complete, your therapist will give you time to rest and slowly sit up. They may offer you water and give you some stretches or exercises to do at home to help maintain the benefits of the massage. In case you need to follow up on your treatment, your therapist will give you advice on when to come back. You may feel a little sore or tender in the areas that were worked on, but this is normal and should subside within a day or two.
